NFL Sunday Night Betting Preview
The Chiefs are playing as expected, looking like one of the NFL’s best teams. At the same time, the Titans don’t always make it look pretty but have a matching record at 5-2.
Point Spread: Chiefs -12.5
The Chiefs may be a little too heavily favored in this one, as the Titans have the same record. It is at home for Kansas City, and Arrowhead Stadium is one of the best home-field advantages in the entire NFL. Yet, with the way the Titans control the ball, there are likely to be fewer possessions in this game, so a double-digit spread may be too much.
Moneyline: Titans (+430) at Chiefs (-560)
The Titans, at the moment, are an excellent moneyline value in this one. One reason for the lopsided spread and money line is due to the health of Titans starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill. It is unclear if he will play this week after missing last week’s game. If he does play, do not be surprised if this moneyline, along with the spread, shrinks if news breaks Sunday afternoon that Tannehill is active.
Total Points: Over 45 (-110)/Under 45 (-110)
Once again, going back to the Titans’ quarterback situation, it will directly affect the potential total points in this game. Last week the Titans only threw 10 passes in a controlling win. That is no recipe for a high-scoring game, even if Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is on the other side. Even if Tannehill plays, the Titans are still looking to ground and pound, control the clock and keep the ball out of Mahomes’ hands.
