Four-star Alabama defensive lineman Tomarrion Parker is visiting Tennessee for this weekend’s top 10 matchup between the Vols and the Crimson Tide.

Parker is a long time Tennessee target who took a pair of unofficial visits to Knoxville this spring before committing to Penn State. The 6-foot-4, 250 pound defensive lineman eventually backed off his pledge to the Nittany Lions in early August and is making his first trip to Tennessee since.

Parker is one of the top players in the country, ranking as the nation’s 87th best player and ninth best defensive lineman according to the 247sports composite rankings.

Clemson is the only school Parker’s visited since de-commiting from Penn State and the Tigers have apparently grabbed the momentum in the top 100 prospect’s recruitment. On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons placed an expert prediction for Parker to go to Clemson earlier this month.

Parker’s visit to Knoxville gives Tennessee a chance to regain some momentum in the Phenix City, Alabama native’s recruitment and push a decision to the early signing period.

Tennessee currently has 21 commits in its 2023 recruiting class including four defensive lineman. While the Vols have four defensive lineman committed, three of them are edge rushers and only one — Tyree Weathersby — is an interior defensive lineman like Parker.

The Vols’ recruiting class ranks ninth nationally according to 247sports team rankings.
