ESPN’s College GameDay is back in Knoxville for this Saturday’s showdown between No. 6 Tennessee and No. 3 Alabama and the guest picker has officially been revealed.
According to College GameDay’s Twitter account, VFL and Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning will be this Saturday’s guest picker.
Manning is one of the most well-known and beloved figures associated with Tennessee Athletics. Manning’s name hangs high in Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium overlooking every Volunteer home game, while his picture greets spectators entering the west side of the stadium. It is fitting that Manning represents Tennessee on GameDay.

The 2022 season is also the 25-year anniversary of Tennessee’s 1997 SEC Championship-winning team, led by Manning in his final season with the Vols.
According to UT Sports, Peyton Manning finished his Tennessee career holding 42 NCAA, SEC, and Tennessee records. The Tennessee great went on to become the No. 1 overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft and would win two Super Bowls by the time he hung up his cleats.
This will be College GameDay’s second trip to Knoxville this season. During their first appearance in town, WWE RAW Women’s Champion, VFL, and Knoxville native Bianca Belair was the selection to be the guest picker. Belair was greeted with a tremendous reception from the crowd that was awaiting the picks for Tennessee-Florida.
