Tennessee’s already landed one five-star quarterback under Josh Heupel’s leadership when top five national recruit Nico Iamaleava committed to the Vols in March.
The Vols are looking to make it two in as many classes. Five-star North Carolina quarterback Jadyn Davis is visiting Knoxville for this weekend’s matchup against Alabama, 247sports’ Steve Wiltfong reported Tuesday morning.
Davis plays his prep football at Charlotte, North Carolina’s Providence Day School— the same school former Tennessee basketball star Grant Williams attended.
The 6-foot quarterback ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 20 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. 247sports in house rankings are even higher on Davis, ranking him as the eight best player and second best quarterback nationally.
More From RTI: Four-Star Shooting Guard Visiting Tennessee
Davis is making his fourth trip to Tennessee in his recruiting cycle after seeing the Vols for the Ole Miss game last season and again in the spring.
The Charlotte, North Carolina native has been active on the recruiting trail, visiting Georgia, North Carolina and Penn State twice this year and Clemson three times this year.
Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class currently holds two commits including five-star athlete Jonathan Echols and three-star defensive lineman Carson Gentle.
The two commits are good to give Tennessee the No. 13 recruiting class in the very opening stages of the 2024 class.
Tennessee’s set to have an abundance of talent in that class on campus this week against Alabama with the five-star Davis leading the way.
