Class of 2024 wide receiver Mario Craver is supposedly nearing his commitment announcement.

“Think it’s time for a decision…” Craver tweeted out on Tuesday afternoon.

The 5-foot-9, 152-pound prospect is based out of Pinson, Alabama, and currently attends Clay-Chalkville High School. Craver is a four-star prospect from 247 Sports, On3 Sports, Rivals, and ESPN’s recruiting services. According to 247’s composite rankings, Craver comes in as the No. 159 prospect in the country, the No. 24 receiver in the class of 2024, and the No. 7 player from the state of Alabama.

Craver helped lead Clay-Chalkville to the Alabama 6A state championship as the second-leading receiver on the 2021 team according to 247.

While Craver is known as a talented receiver on the football field, the highly-ranked prospect is also a quick competitor for his high school’s track team. Craver ran an 11.03 100 and a 22.59 200 as just a high school sophomore this past March.

According to On3 Sports, it looks to be a four-horse race for Craver’s commitment between Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, and Oklahoma. At the time of this publication, Alabama leads On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine at 32.9 percent, followed by Auburn at 28.8 percent and Tennessee at 12.9 percent.

However, there has been a recent prediction to go Tennessee’s way as well.

On Tuesday afternoon, OUInsider’s Parker Thune recorded a 247 Crystal Ball prediction for Craver to land at Tennessee. Besides Thune, there have been no other Crystal Ball predictions recorded.

Tennessee offered Mario Craver a scholarship offer on Jan. 25, 2022. Seven months later, on July 30, Craver took his first unofficial visit to the University of Tennessee.

The Vols and head coach Josh Heupel do have two commitments to the class of 2024 as things stand currently. Tennessee has a commitment from five-star athlete (EDGE) Jonathan Echols and three-star defensive lineman Carson Gentle. The addition of four-star wide receiver Mario Craver would give the Vols a highly-touted offensive prospect to add to the mix.
