One of the major renovations that Tennessee has accomplished this offseason is the new jumbotron and deck in the upper north section of Neyland Stadium.
Tennessee had to remove 540 seats to install the new section, but it looks to be well worth the trouble. Tennessee’s new upper north deck section will be one of the most unique and entertaining ways to watch the game in Knoxville.
Starting with the jumbotron, it is a 10K resolution board, making it the brightest in the country. Tennessee’s traditional jumbotron in the south endzone has also been updated to the same specifications, making Tennessee’s two jumbotrons the brightest in the nation.
Directly underneath the jumbotron is a new sports bar area that will feature a rotation of local craft beer and has plenty of televisions surrounding the bar to keep up with all the action on the field. There is also a marketplace next to the bar that will have high-end technology and provide spectators with a fast and easy purchasing experience.
There are also four rows of standing room tables that stretch across the lower portion of the deck and can be seen from across the stadium. According to a Tennessee spokesperson on Tuesday, there is a capacity of “almost 1,200” in the upper north deck space.
