Tennessee Makes Top Five For Top 100 Linebacker

Class of 2024 linebacker Demarcus Riddick released his top five Friday with Tennessee making the list. The Vols joined Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky and Oklahoma in the four-star recruit’s top five.

Riddick ranks as the No. 57 player in the country and No. 2 player in the state of Alabama according to the 247sports composite rankings. Some sites list Riddick as an athlete due to his ability to play a plethora of positions at Chilton County High School.

However, Riddick projects as a linebacker at the collegiate level and is the No. 3 linebacker in the 2024 class according to 247sports.

Going into the state of Alabama and landing top talent is a tall task. The Clanton, Alabama native holds an offer from Auburn — who didn’t make his top group — but doesn’t hold an offer from the Crimson Tide.

Riddick took three visits this summer, camping at Tennessee in late June following an early June trip to Georgia. The top 100 recruit also visited Florida State this summer.

Tennessee currently has two commits in the 2024 recruiting class including five-star athlete Jonathan Echols and three-star defensive lineman Carson Gentle. The two commits early in the cycle is good for the nation’s 10th best recruiting class according to 247sports.

The Vols are also in deep for four-star Lipscomb Academy teammates Kaleb Beasley and Edwin Spillman.
