The positive news continues to trickle in for Josh Heupel and the Tennessee 2023 recruiting class. After landing two commitments heading into the weekend, Tennessee has now received a new prediction in the race for 2023 edge rusher Chandavian Bradley.
On Saturday, On3 Sports Director of Football Recruiting Chad Simmons locked in a prediction for Bradley to land at Tennessee. Simmons’ prediction comes with a 60 percent confidence rating.
According to On3 Sports’ consensus rankings, Bradley lists as the No. 37 overall player in the class of 2023, the No. 6 edge rusher, and the top-ranked player from the state of Missouri.

Bradley, a native of Platte City, Missouri, currently plays his high school ball for Platte County High School. During his sophomore year, Bradley was also a standout on the Pirates’ basketball and track and field teams.
On June 27, the 6-foot-5, 220-pound edge rusher announced a Top 3 of Tennessee, South Carolina, and Texas A&M. However, it seems that Tennessee is tracking well with the Missouri native.
Bradley currently has four Crystal Ball predictions from 247 Sports, with three of them pointing in the direction of Tennessee. One of those predictions is from 247 Sports Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong. While USC is the other program to have a prediction, the Trojans aren’t even in Bradley’s top three, and the prediction came back in January. Bradley’s three Tennessee predictions have come in March, May, and July.

Additionally, On3 Sports’ Recruiting Prediction Machine also has the Vols as the favorite for the four-star edge rusher. Tennessee leads the way at 81.6 percent, followed by Texas A&M at 10.8 percent and South Carolina at two percent.
“Long, athletic defender that has high upside but is still early in his development,” 247 Sports National Recruiting Analyst Allen Trieu said about Bradley in 2021. “Has twitch, gets off the ball quickly and closes to his target in a hurry. He is fluid and able to bend and dip and make offensive linemen miss their punch on him. Needs additional strength and technique, but has a high ceiling based on his athletic gifts and has the frame to fill in.”
The prediction from Chad Simmons for Tennessee to land Chandavian Bradley comes after two massive days on the recruiting trail for Heupel and the Vols. On Thursday, Tennessee landed a commitment from 2023 four-star wide receiver/athlete Cam Seldon, who is one of the most dynamic players in the country. Then, on Friday afternoon, Tennessee hauled in a commitment from 2023 four-star offensive tackle Sham Umarov.
The Vols are hoping that four-star EDGE rusher Chandavian Bradley will be the next to commit to Tennessee whenever he decides to announce his decision.
Following the commitments from Seldon and Umarov this week, Tennessee’s team rankings (at the time of this publication) are as follows:
- 247 Sports: No. 7, No. 2 SEC
- Rivals: No. 8, No. 2 SEC
- On3 Sports: No. 12, No. 4 SEC
