Tennessee Legend Candace Parker Nominated for Two Prestigious ESPY Awards

Tennessee and WNBA legend Candace Parker has officially been nominated for two individual ESPY awards. According to ESPN Press Room on Tuesday, Parker has been nominated for “Best Athlete, Women’s Sports” and “Best WNBA Player”. In addition, Parker’s Chicago Sky has also been nominated for the “Best Team” award.

Parker, a 7x WNBA All-Star and two-time Olympic gold medalist, led the Chicago Sky to the WNBA Championship title during the 2021 season.

The 2022 ESPYs Award Show will take place on July 20, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. ET.

In the midst of her 15th NBA season, Parker is averaging 12.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game in her 16 contests so far. Parker and the Chicago Sky are currently leading the WNBA Eastern division with a dominant record of 13-5.

Parker was also recently named a 2022 WNBA All-Star starter this past week. The WNBA All-Star game will take place in front of the Sky’s home crowd in Chicago.
