There are officially 71 days separating the Tennessee Volunteers from the first game of the regular season. Or, in other words, there are two months and ten days until it is Football Time in Tennessee.
Over the historic lifespan of the Tennessee football program, 29 players have worn the No. 71 for the Volunteers. Out of those 29 players, 24 of them have been offensive linemen. Three players were on the defensive line, one player was a linebacker, and Ronald Bergmeier, the first Volunteer to sport the No. 71, was a back/wing-back during his time in orange.
Tennessee and head coach Josh Heupel will kick off the football season against Ball State on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 7:00 p.m. ET.
If you have a specific standout memory from one of the players listed, make sure to drop it in the comment section below!
