Davis was one of the first members of Tennessee’s 2023 recruiting class, committing to Josh Heupel and his staff in December. The Georgia tight end is also one of the top rated prospects in the Vols’ class.
The Collins Hill tight end ranks as the No. 89 player and No. 6 tight end in the country according to 247sports composite rankings.
The two-sport star — Davis is a fantastic basketball player — was overshadowed in Tennessee circles by Nico Iamaleava at last week’s OT7 Tournament in Las Vegas. However, Davis turned heads and even landed as the tight end on the tournament “dream team”.
Since committing in December, Davis has frequently made the trip up Interstate-75 to Knoxville, most recently visiting Tennessee for the Vols’ massive “RockyTopPalooza” weekend.
Tennessee currently has nine players committed to its 2023 recruiting class including five blue chip recruits.
Josh Heupel’s second full recruiting class in Knoxville currently ranks as the No. 13 best in the country according to 247sports and the No. 8 class in the country according to On3.
