ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter is the latest media personality to tease the next event for Tennessee quarterback commit Nico Iamaleava.
On Thursday, Schefter tweeted out a reminder that the inaugural OT7, Overtime’s 7-on-7 event featuring some of the top talents in the nation, will start Thursday night in Las Vegas.
“OT7, the new 7-on-7 league kicks off tonight in Las Vegas and runs through the weekend,” Schefter tweeted on Thursday. “Hundreds of high school prospects such as USC commit Malachi Nelson, Tenn commit Nico Iamaleava and top-rated Jadyn Davis are playing. OT7 airs on Overtime channels over the next few months.”

The event, which will run from Thursday through Sunday, will feature elite recruits from the 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes. On3 Sports’ Charles Power is even anticipating this being “the most star-studded recruiting event of the summer.”
Iamaleava will be playing in the event with his own Team TOA, which fans in Knoxville had the opportunity to see live and in person earlier this spring. Iamaleava, his brother Madden Iamaleava, and his family brought Team TOA over to Knoxville from California for the Pylon Sports 7-on-7 tournament held at Farragut High School. Iamaleava, who was already committed to Tennessee at this time, put on a show for the viewers and media members in attendance as he led Team TOA to the championship victory.

In addition to Iamaleava, two other Tennessee commits will also be participating in the marquee event. Tight end commit Ethan Davis and safety commit Jack Luttrell will both be playing for the Trillion Boys, a team that consists of quite a few high-ranking players.
According to Schefter’s tweet, the OT7 competition will not be aired right away. Instead, the event will be broadcast throughout the summer on the Overtime TV network.
Iamaleave continues to rank as the top player in Tennessee’s 2023 class. The five-star quarterback is ranked by 247 Sports composite as the No. 4 overall recruit in the class, the No. 3 quarterback in the class, and the No. 2 player from the state of California.
