Tennessee outlasted Campbell on the diamond Saturday night to pick up their second win in the Knoxville Regional. Throughout the game, the Vols and Camels had a back-and-forth nail-biter contest, but Tennessee’s resiliency late in the evening gave them the extra edge needed to win.
Campbell jumped out to a 4-0 lead on Tennessee, which forced the Vols to play with their backs against the wall. Tennessee was ready to answer the bell as the team rallied together and found the win in front of the home crowd in Knoxville.
After the game, Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello met with the media for his postgame press conference and gave his instant reaction to the Vols’ hard-fought win. In addition, Vitello also briefly addressed Evan Russell’s situation from Friday and gave some insight into the matter.
