As the Volunteers prepare for the upcoming Knoxville Regional this weekend, Tennessee catcher Evan Russell and pitcher Chase Dollander met with the media on Thursday to discuss the games on the horizon. Dollander also spoke about the transition to Tennessee and how instrumental pitching coach Frank Anderson has been for him, while Russell talked about his role as a veteran leader on this Tennessee team.
On Thursday, Dollander was named a First Team All-American starting pitcher by Baseball America.
The top-seeded Volunteers will take on fourth-seeded Alabama State this Friday night at 6:00 p.m. ET in the second game of the Knoxville Regional.
