Tony Vitello and the Tennessee Volunteers defeated Vanderbilt, 10-1, in the second round of the SEC Tournament on the diamond in Hoover, Alabama on Thursday. With the victory, Tennessee advances to the third round to take on LSU on Friday night. Tennessee catcher Evan Russell finished the game with one hit, one run batted in, and two walks. In addition, Tennessee center fielder Drew Gilbert ended the game with two hits, two RBIs, and one walk. Gilbert was vital in Tennessee’s hot start in the game with both of his RBIs coming in the first three innings.
