The brother of Tennessee wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, Devin Hyatt, is one of the premier receivers in the class of 2023. While playing for IMG Academy in Florida, Hyatt has carved himself a following based on his talent and playmaking abilities.
On Wednesday afternoon, Hyatt released a new Top 4, which includes Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. There is one aspect that is crystal clear, and that is Hyatt’s desire to play SEC football.

Vol Recruiting: Tennessee Football Spring Recruiting Timeline
Devin Hyatt is a four-star recruit according to On3 Sports’ consensus rankings. The 6-foot-2, 194-pound receiver is also listed as the No. 48 wide receiver in the class of 2023 and the No. 59 prospect from the state of Florida.
With Hyatt’s brother, Jalin, on the Tennessee team since the arrival of head coach Josh Heupel in January of 2021, the Vols’ coaching staff has had plenty of opportunities to get to know Jalin’s brother. Devin Hyatt was in Knoxville for two unofficial visits last fall: South Carolina in October and Georgia in November. Additionally, Hyatt was also part of the massive recruiting weekend at Tennessee in late January for the Vols’ Junior Day on campus.
According to On3 Sports’ Recruiting Prediction Machine, South Carolina leads the way for Hyatt at 47.9 percent. Tennessee is second behind South Carolina at 25.5 percent, followed by Georgia at 7.8 percent.
In addition to his play on the football field, the Irmo, South Carolina native was also a track star for Dutch Fork High School. While using his speed and size to his advantage, Hyatt hauled in 228 yards and one touchdown on 13 receptions in the 2020 season.
Following his sophomore year at Dutch Fork, Hyatt would make a switch and transfer to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida for the remainder of his high school career. With the transfer to IMG, Hyatt was able to put his name on a much bigger stage with how valuable that school is for high school recruiting.
Combined with the increase in status, IMG Academy also plays a national schedule, which allows its team to travel around and be in more high-profile matchups in front of more eyes.
In addition to Tennessee targeting Devin Hyatt, the Vols are also making a play for one of his receiving teammates at IMG Academy. Tennessee is currently targeting five-star IMG Academy wide receiver Carnell Tate, who has been trending away from Ohio State and towards Tennessee since Nico Iamleava’s commitment. Currently, Tennessee is the favorite to land Tate at 60.2 percent.
