Chiefs Have Traded Tyreek Hill To The Dolphins
Four-star offensive tackle Lucas Simmons looks to have Tennessee in a favorable position for his recruitment. On Wednesday afternoon, the Clearwater, Florida resident dropped his official Top 12, with the Tennessee Volunteers making the cut along with some stout competition.
“After much thought and consideration, I am blessed to announce that these are the 12 schools that I will be focusing on for the remainder of my recruiting process,” Simmons said in a post on Twitter. “#Trenchmafia”
Simmons’ Top 12 is as follows: Arkansas, Baylor, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Southern Cal, and UCF.
According to 247 Sports, Simmons is a 6-foot-7, 300-pound four-star tackle in the class of 2023.

Tennessee and head coach Josh Heupel have been hot on the recruiting trail this last week after landing one of the top recruits in the nation. On Monday, the Vols received a commitment from five-star quarterback and the fifth overall prospect in the country Nico Iamaleava. Now, with a player like Simmons, the Vols are working to get their future quarterbacks some protection down the road.
Simmons was offered a scholarship by Tennessee on Jan. 17, 2022. Although Simmons does not have a recorded visit to Knoxville since receiving a scholarship offer, his inclusion of Tennessee in his Top 12 shows the impact that Tennessee has on name value alone.
With over 30 scholarship offers to come in so far, Simmons did leave off a considerable amount of top-shelf talent when announcing his Top 12. Some of the programs that did offer Simmons a spot but didn’t make his Top 12 include Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M.
Lucas Simmons, originally hailing from Sweeden, now plays his high school ball at Clearwater Academy International in southwest Florida.
Since receiving a commitment from Iamaleava on Monday, the Vols’ class of 2023 has shot up the rankings. Tennessee’s class currently sits at No. 10 nationally and No. 3 in the SEC according to 247’s rankings. In addition, the Vols do have a commitment from three-star offensive tackle Ayden Bussell, a resident of Mount Juliet, Tennessee.
