LOOK: Tennessee Basketball Cuts Down the Nets in Tampa

Murray State (+15000) To Win The National Championship

The best part of the championship celebration in the sport of basketball is cutting down the nets. And that’s exactly what the Tennessee basketball team did on Sunday afternoon in Tampa.

After a hard-fought game against the eighth-seeded Texas A&M Aggies, the Vols found the victory by a score of 65-50, thus becoming the SEC Tournament champion for the first time since 1979.

Cutting the net is a sacred tradition in the basketball world, allowing the players, coaches, and staff members an opportunity to take home a valuable piece of the game.

After the Tennessee players cut down the net, they brought it over to head coach Rick Barnes, who was doing an interview on the sidelines. Tennessee’s players surrounded Barnes with themselves and their cheers, throwing down confetti onto their coach.
