Tennessee men’s basketball is in the top 10 for the first time all season, moving up four spots to tie with Purdue as the nation’s No. 9 team in this week’s AP poll. Tennessee’s women’s basketball team fell a spot to No. 19 in the women’s poll after losing in the semifinal of the SEC Tournament.

Tennessee’s 2-0 week with wins at Georgia and against No. 14 Arkansas pushed the Vols their highest ranking of the season.

The Vols’ have been ranked in the AP poll every single week of the season and with their previous high ranking being No. 13 and their low ranking being No. 24.

Tennessee is one of four SEC teams in this week’s poll, coming in behind No. 4 Auburn and No. 5 Kentucky while coming in ahead of No. 15 Arkansas.

The Lady Vols went 1-1 at the SEC Tournament in Nashville. Tennessee avenged its February loss at Alabama with a decisive victory in the quarterfinals before losing to red-hot Kentucky in the semifinals.

Kellie Harper and her team are now waiting and working for a week before figuring out their NCAA Tournament draw on Sunday. While Tennessee has struggled over the past month, the Lady Vols are still projected to be a top four-seed and host the first weekend of the tournament.

The Lady Vols are one of four SEC teams in this week’s poll, coming in behind No. 1 South Carolina, No. 9 LSU and No. 16 Kentucky.
