Where Tennessee’s Basketball Teams Rank In Feb. 28 AP Poll

NCAAM 2/26 Recap: #17 Tennessee Brings Down #3 Auburn 67-62

Tennessee’s men’s basketball team jumped four spots from No. 17 to No. 13 in this week’s AP poll while the Lady Vols dropped from No. 16 to No. 18 in the women’s poll.

Coming in at 13th, Tennessee ties its highest ranking in the AP poll this season, equaling where they stood in the Nov. 29 and Dec. 6 polls.

The Vols are winners of 10 of their last 12 games and have climbed 11 spots in the AP poll since their Jan. 16 loss at Kentucky.

Tennessee went 2-0 on the week defeating Missouri on the road and No. 3 Auburn at Thompson-Boling Arena.

The Vols are the third highest ranked SEC team in this week’s poll coming in behind No. 5 Auburn and No. 7 Kentucky and ahead of No. 14 Arkansas and No. 25 Alabama.

Tennessee is looking for its first win at Georgia in 11 years before hosting No. 14 Arkansas for a checker Thompson-Boling Arena game.

The Lady Vols continue to fall in the AP poll after splitting home matchups with Mississippi State and LSU last week. Tennessee dominated the Bulldogs before its miracle second half comeback came up short against the Tigers.

Tennessee is the third highest ranked SEC team in this week’s poll, coming in behind No. 1 South Carolina and No. 6 LSU and ahead of No. 23 Florida and No. 24 Georgia.

The Lady Vols’ regular season is over and they’ll head to Nashville for this week’s SEC Tournament as the three-seed.
