Tennessee A Three-Seed In March Madness Bracket Preview Show

NCAAM: Tennessee vs Arkansas

With Selection Sunday a month away, the NCAA held its March Madness Bracket Preview Show Saturday as the selection committee revealed its current top 16 teams.

Despite being a four-seed in most recent bracketology updates, Tennessee came in as a three-seed in the South Region. Arizona — who the Vols defeated 77-73 in Knoxville in December — is the one-seed in the South Region while Baylor is the two-seed and Providence in the four-seed.

The Vols are currently No. 16 in the AP poll but the committee’s bracket preview has Tennessee as the nation’s 11th best team.

Teams ranked around Tennessee include Villanova (No. 9), Texas Tech (No. 10), Illinois (No. 12) and Wisconsin (No. 13).

Other SEC teams in the top 16 include No. 1 seed Auburn and No. 2 seed Kentucky.

The Vols can improve up their rising seeding today when they face No. 23 Arkansas in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks have lost just once since losing their first three conference games and the Vols haven’t won at Bud Walton Arena since 2009.

Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. ET in Fayetteville. Dave Neal and Dane Bradshaw are on the call for ESPN.
