There aren’t any free cookies available today at Moonshine Mountain, but the “Cookie Monster” Alontae Taylor ball hawked another interception Saturday.
While this one didn’t come wearing Tennessee’s orange-and-white, the former Vol cornerback intercepted Nevada quarterback Carson Strong in the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

With the “American Team” trailing 13-0 early in the third quarter, Taylor provided a spark for his squad, intercepting the Nevada quarterback.
The “American Team” followed up the interception with its best drive of the game, going 60 yards for a touchdown on 11 plays. Still, the “National Team” followed it up with a touchdown drive of its own as they coasted to a, 20-10, victory.
The Manchester, Tennessee native had a career season during his senior year at Tennessee. Taylor marked career highs in tackles, pass break ups and interceptions while leading the Vols’ defensive back room.
Taylor had two interceptions during the 2021 season and another on a South Carolina two-point try. Each time the senior intercepted a pass, Tennessee fans got two free cookies to Moonshine Mountain Cookies thanks to a NIL deal.
After a strong week in Mobile at the Senior Bowl, Taylor is preparing for this spring’s NFL Draft.
