Can the Titans Secure the AFC?
Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes met with the media on Wednesday night after the Vols’ big win in Knoxville. Tennessee had a comeback victory over the Rebels on Wednesday which marks the Vols’ first SEC win of the season. Additionally, with the win, Tennessee now moves to 10-3 on the season.
The Vols had anything but a comfortable game on Wednesday as Ole Miss played the vast majority of the game with the lead. However, by the end, the gritty Vols somehow tied up the game by the end of the second half. A strong start to overtime then paved the way for Tennessee to take home the victory by a score of 66-60.
After the game, Barnes was chatty as he spoke about several topics relating to the team. Barnes broke down the play of certain individual players like Kennedy Chandler and Zakai Zeigler, but also hit on some overall thoughts he had on the team as a whole. Tennessee’s coach talked about the importance of each player on the team and why/how it all comes together to make the product that Tennessee is looking for.

In addition, Barnes also spoke about the emergence of Tennessee forwards Olivier Nkamhoua and Uros Plavsic. Barnes was extremely complimentary of Nkamhoua after the game, saying that it is one of the best Nkamhoua games he has seen in his career. It wasn’t just about his work on the court, but it was also his command and leadership on the sideline and in the huddle.
