Happy Thanksgiving!
First and foremost, the Rocky Top Insider family is wishing everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving, wherever you may be reading this. Thank you for all of your continued support throughout the months, years, and various seasons!
However, Rocky Top Insider isn’t the only people feeling thankful for an incredible community today. All morning, the Tennessee Athletics teams have been sending out Thanksgiving wishes. From player videos to social media, here are some of the Thanksgiving wishes from the Tennessee Volunteers.
Tennessee Football
“I might have about 25 people in this week, so there will be a lot going on,” Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel said on Monday about Thanksgiving. “My wife will take care of most of that. I’ll have some nieces and nephews running around at practice. I think it’s an awesome time. You want to be playing football this weekend. Get to blend two of my favorite things, family and football, together. For our players, we’ll have some fun on Thursday. I think it’s unique that a lot of our players will have a chance to get home for a little bit and enjoy that experience. Try to have players over that aren’t able to go home, that will come over to our houses and have Thanksgiving at our place, too.

Tennessee Basketball
“Well, I’m going to spend Thanksgiving dinner late, 6 o’clock, with our players,” Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes said on Wednesday night during Vol Calls. “We’ll come back, do our regular day-before-the-game routine. Practice early Thursday morning, give them some time off, and come back and do what we do. This time of year, my wife normally travels to Austin, Texas, to spend time with our grandkids for Thanksgiving and celebrate her birthday. So it’s a regular Thursday. Thursday is a regular day before the game celebration with our team. We’ve got a lot to be thankful for. We’ll talk about that with our team, because we’ve truly all been blessed. As I said, a lot to be thankful for.”
Give thanks!

One Response
I’ve been a Vol Fan for over 50 years and I’ve never been prouder of a group of Football Players and Coaches. When you consider the limited number of players they’ve had to work with, I don’t think anyone could have done better. I can’t wait to see what will happen in future years after the coaches that have been put together does the recruiting I know they are capable of doing. I just hope coach Josh Heupel doesn’t leave about the time he gets the team built up to an elite level.
We love you brother, just stick with us and we’ll stick with you!
