Tennessee trailed for over 18 minutes in the second half and by as many as nine points before a late push by Jordan Horston gave the Lady Vols a 52-49 win.
The come from behind win gives Tennessee a 3-0 record on the season and gives the Lady Vols their first win over a ranked opponent this year.
Offense was a struggled for Tennessee throughout the evening as the Lady Vols shot just 33% from the field, didn’t make a three-point attempt and shot a measly 44% from the free throw line.
Still, the Lady Vols were able to pull out the victory due to strong defense, particularly in the fourth quarter when the Bulls scored just five points.
“We’re going to have to score at some point,” Harper said postgame. “We know that. We have to put some points on the board at some point, but until that happens hopefully our defense can hang tough.”
