Tennessee baseball released its full 2022 schedule Tuesday morning, three weeks after the SEC schedule was released.

The Vols will open their 2022 campaign with a three-game series at Lindsey Nelson Stadium against Georgia Southern. Tennessee opened its 2021 campaign by sweeping the Eagles in Statesboro.

Tennessee plays two other non conference series at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, hosting Iona on Feb. 25-27 and Rhode Island on March 1-3.

Tony Vitello’s fifth Tennessee team will also play in the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic at MinuteMaid Park in Houston from March 4-6.

Tennessee will face a trio of Big 12 opponents in Houston, taking on Texas in game one, Baylor in game two and Oklahoma in game three.

The Vols will play 14 midweek opponents including back-to-back matchups against James Madison in March. Other midweek opponents include Tennessee Tech, ETSU and Belmont.

In conference play, Tennessee has a grueling road schedule. The Vols will travel to Ole Miss, Florida, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and defending national champion Mississippi State.

At home, the Vols will host South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn and Missouri.

While major renovations to Lindsey Nelson Stadium are moving slowly, Tennessee’s baseball stadium will look different when the Vols take the field in February.

The Vols began fall practice last week and will play a pair of scrimmages this fall against Georgia State and Louisiana Tech.
