The Tennessee players will be back on the road for their second straight SEC away game this Saturday. The Vols will travel west to Missouri for a matchup with the Tigers in Columbia.

However, on Tuesday, a few of the Tennessee players spoke to the media in Knoxville after practice. During their few minutes, each player gave some of their final thoughts on the Florida game, mainly talking about where the team can improve this week at practice and heading forward. However, many of them also just spoke about what was going on in the building this week, how guys were feeling, and other non-football stories. For instance, Evans spoke about being a father, and about his “blessed” moment two weeks ago when he held his son after a game.

In addition, though, Tennessee is also preparing for another road test. The Missouri Tigers, just like Tennessee, and 2-2 on the season with one SEC loss. While Tennessee’s loss came at the hands of Florida, Missouri lost to Kentucky earlier in the year.

Aside from the three Tennessee players, LB coach Brian Jean-Mary and RB coach Jerry Mack also spoke to the media on Tuesday.

Tennessee and Missouri will square off at noon ET this Saturday on ESPN. Currently, the Vols are a slight underdog heading into the critical SEC game.

Tennessee RB Tiyon Evans

“Our relationship brings out what we do on the field,” Evans said about playing with Jabari Small. “We’re so competitive in practice and when we do things, we feed off each other so me and (Jabari) have that mindset already. There is no type of confusion so when we lock up and pad up, it’s go time for us.”

Tennessee STAR DB Theo Jackson

“I feel like that they’re doing a great job,” Jackson said about Tennessee’s younger players. “Their confidence is high and with Christian Charles being so young, he’s really listened to us more because we’ve been playing for a while. So, he’s just listening and taking everything in but he can also play and play very well, too. So, he just knows his assignment and is just going out there and playing.”

“It can be cleaned up, that’s the little things,” Small said about Tennessee’s penalty number. “Little things, they lead to big things, so that’s just something we have to clean up during the week. We’ll get better at that. I feel like that Florida game, I’m happy we had that early so we can learn from that.”
