The Rocky Top Insider Podcast is back for week three as Ric Butler and Ryan Schumpert are getting you ready for week three. The Volunteers are looking to redeem themselves after a loss to Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, the visiting Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles are looking for their first win of the season.
Tennessee will have defensive end Byron Young on the field for the first time this season. Young had to sit out of the first due games due to eligibility issues, but had a great spring and fall camp according to his teammates and coaches.
“I’m extremely excited for that,” defensive lineman Matthew Butler said about getting Young back for Saturday’s game. “You know, B.Y., he’s been with us since January. I wasn’t exactly privy to everything that was going on, but now that I am, and now that I see what he has had to overcome, learning more and more about B.Y. You know, B.Y. and I are very close already, but learning more about him, his story is already moving. So it’s going to be great to see him out here this Saturday.
In addition, Ryan and Ric also spoke about Tennessee’s quarterback situation. With Joe Milton still recovering from injury, and Hendon Hooker playing well against Pittsburgh, coach Heupel has not revealed much about that position this week.
The guys took a final look at the Pittsburgh game, checked in with this week’s storylines from campus, and looked ahead to Tennessee Tech in week three’s edition of the Rocky Top Insider podcast.
