After he committed to Tennessee in April of 2021, four-star quarterback Tayven Jackson had his senior season debut for Center Grove high school over the weekend.
Jackson, the second-highest ranked recruit in the Vols’ 2022 class so far, got off to a good start in the air and on the ground. Tennessee commit Tayven Jackson completed 10 of his 16 passes for 143 yards. He also threw for a touchdown and rushed for a touchdown.
Center Grove High School, led by Jackson, defeated Warren Central 38-14 on Friday night in Indianapolis.

In the video, Jackson made several plays on the field. He threw it deep to the sidelines with strength, underneath the defense with finesse, and even snuck in a score on the goal-line.
The four-star quarterback committed to Tennessee over more than 30 other Division-1 programs. In addition, the list included multiple SEC schools as well. Jackson was Tennessee’s highest-rated recruit in the 2022 class until August. However, on Aug. 2, Tennessee received a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Addison Nichols. Nichols then became the highest recruit for the Vols, sending Jackson to number two.
“[Coach Heupel’s] been recruiting guys that fit that culture perfectly,” four-star Addison Nichols told Rocky Top Insider in August. “I feel like me and some of the other commits, like Tayven Jackson, will be able to do our jobs of committing some other guys that will fit really well. I’m excited to get it rolling. I feel like we can get it turned around fast and it will be good. Tennessee will be back in the races soon.”
The Vols’ 2022 class currently has 14 commitments and is tenth in the SEC.
Tennessee quarterback commit Tayven Jackson will be back on the field for Center Grove this Friday night against Decatur Central.
