Four-Star Guard Sets Commitment Date

Four-star Jalen Hood-Schifino will make his college commitment on Aug. 24, the guard announced on Instagram account Sunday.

Hood-Schifino released a top five of Memphis, Texas, Indiana, Tennessee and Florida earlier this month.

The Montverde Academy standout took official visits to Tennessee and Indiana in June.

Hood-Schifino ranks as the 24th best player and third best combo guard in the country according to 247sports composite rankings. The Florida native is the second highest rated four-star in the 2022 class.

A commitment from Hood-Schifino would give Tennessee a strong backcourt in its 2022 signing class.

Four-star point guard B.J. Edwards is Tennessee’s lone commit in the 2022 class.

Hood-Schifino isn’t the only high level guard Tennessee is pursuing. Rick Barnes and his staff are deep in five-star guard Cason Wallace’s recruitment.

Tennessee also hosted instate five-star Brandon Miller and four-star forward Dillon Mitchell for visits in June.

The NCAA allows all basketball recruits to take five official visits during their junior year of high school and five more in their senior year.

Which June visitors come back for visits this fall and which prospects make their first visit to Tennessee will be worth watching the next few months.
