It may still be the offseason, but plenty of us can’t wait to get the 2021-2022 NFL Season going. While you’ll have to wait for opening weekend in September for the action to officially start, you can start sports betting on your Titans and their players right now! Here are the best player props and futures parlays to get you ready for the upcoming season.
DraftKings TN Player Props
DraftKings Tennessee has plenty of props featuring Tennessee Titans player totals for the upcoming season, including new addition WR Julio Jones. Keep in mind that with a 17th regular-season game in 2021, season totals are going to be slightly different than in years past as oddsmakers try to account for the change.
- Julio Jones Receiving Yards: Over 1000.5 (-112) / Under 1000.5 (-112)
- Ryan Tannheill Passing Yards: Over 4050.5 (-112) / Under 4050.5 (-112)
- Derrick Henry Rushing Yards: Over 1550.5 (-112) / Under 1550.5 (-112)
Our Analysis
Julio Jones has been one of the best receivers in the league since he stepped onto the scene in 2011. He has played all 10 of his NFL seasons with the Falcons and QB Matt Ryan. Moving to the Titans, he will continue to work with one of the league’s top QB’s in Ryan Tannehill. Some wonder if he will be targeted as frequently in a run-heavy Titans offense that pairs him with receiving threats WR AJ Brown and TE Jonnu Smith. Others argue that opposing defenses will struggle to cover all of these threats, which could lead to favorable matchups for Jones, who is accustomed to seeing double teams and the opposing team’s best defender.
Ryan Tannehill enters the 2021 season with a plethora of offseason weapons. He is widely known for making smart decisions with the ball, minimizing mistakes, and having a great TD: INT ratio. In 2019, he threw 22 TDs to only 6 interceptions, and in 2020 he improved upon those marks, throwing 33 TDs and 7 interceptions. This is likely going to be the best offense he has ever been in command of, but he has only thrown over 28.5 touchdowns once in his career.
Derrick Henry has spent all 5 of his NFL seasons with the Titans. In each year so far, he has rushed for more yards than the year before. Last year he rushed for 2,027 yards, well above the O/U of 1450.5. This bet may seem like a shoo-in for the over, but NFL running backs are notoriously injury-prone, and Derrick Henry’s workload is going to start taking a toll on his body sooner or later. Such a high total leaves little room for error, and an injury could derail his yardage total.
BetMGM TN Sportsbook Division & Playoffs
BetMGM Tennesee is offering some interesting parlays that involve multiple teams win totals, being a division winner, or making the playoffs. Here are a few that involve the Titans. Note: these bets only have a “yes” option, so that’s all we’ve listed here.
- Titans and Falcons both to make the playoffs: +450
- Titans, Ravens, and Buccaneers all to win their divisions: +650
- Colts, Titans, and Steelers all to make the playoffs: +550
Our Analysis
With the expansion of the NFL playoffs to include additional wildcard teams, the Titans and Falcons to make the playoffs might seem like a good bet. After all, the Titans look very likely to do so. However, the Falcons have lost a few of their playmakers including Julio Jones, have an aging QB under center in Matt Ryan, and were notorious for losing games in disastrous fashion in 2020. They finished last in the NFC South at 4-12. Interestingly, they are also featured in a parlay bet among teams to finish dead last in their divisions.
The Titans, Ravens, and Buccaneers all look forward to what should be strong 2021-2022 campaigns, so winning their respective divisions is definitely doable. Consider, however, that each one faces stiff competition from a division rival. The Titans and Colts are split favorites to win the AFC South, both at +110 (Fanduel Tennessee). The Ravens are trailed closely by the much improved Cleveland Browns, and questions remain about Lamar Jackson’s ability to control games as a passer. Finally, the Buccaneers seem the most likely of the three to win their division as relative heavy favorites at -190 (Fanduel). So, while each of these teams is favored to win their division, 2 of the 3 aren’t projected to win by much, and one is a dead toss-up.
Finally, the Colts, Titans, and Steelers to all make the playoffs comes in at +550. Adding to the complication here is that the Colts and Titans are in the same division, so one would have to have a good enough record to make the playoffs as a wildcard. That usually requires a 10 win campaign or better in the highly competitive AFC. The Steelers also face a formidable challenge in the always difficult AFC East. Baltimore and Cleveland bring back strong teams, and Cincy looks to young QB Joe Burrow to build on his rookie season. This bet is certainly no walk in the park.
