The Memphis Grizzlies have a new official sports betting partner: WynnBET Tenessee. The NBA team and the sports betting operator have announced a multi-year marketing partnership. This is the Grizzlies’ second sports betting partnership. The first was with FanDuel Tennessee, formed in November 2020.
WynnBET’s partnership with the Grizzlies includes the use of various digital content platforms such as Grizzlies social media accounts and web/mobile apps. Additionally, according to the announcement press release, “there will also be as physical space at FedExForum for all fans to enjoy on event days and beyond.”
“The popularity of sports gaming in Tennessee continues to increase, and we’re thrilled to partner with one of the most recognizable names in sports and entertainment with WynnBET,” said Memphis Grizzlies President Jason Wexler. “With the importance of a digital-first approach, partnering WynnBET with our Grind City Media shows, content and features was a very organic framework for building this forward-looking partnership. We also enjoy any opportunity to create new and different spaces to experience inside FedExForum for our fans, and we love the thought of being a destination in downtown Memphis for sports fans to watch their favorite sports programming year-round.”
Partnership Details
This team-up includes a “digital-first” approach in which the Grizzlies and WynnBET will contribute to programs offered by Grind City Media, an on-demand media platform and digital content studio.
WynnBET becomes the presenting partners of various shows on the network, including the Chris Vernon Show and the Odds Couple. WynnBET also becomes the official advertising partner of the GCM podcast.
The Memphis Grizzlies app will get a boost, too, with a new free-to-play Buzzer Beater Picks in-app game
WynnBET On The Move
WynnBET launched its Tennessee sportsbook in April 2021, and the company has been busy ever since. We expect them to launch an Arizona sportsbook app along with Maryland and possibly New York. Most recently, Wynn Resorts announced that it’s spinning off Wynn Interactive via a special-purpose acquisition company, Austerlitz Acquisition Corporation. The move will bring Wynn Interactive to the public market, where it will be better staged to compete with other major sports betting players such as FanDuel, DraftKings, William Hill, and BetMGM.
