Tennessee and Arizona are setting up a home and home series for basketball, starting in 2021. The Vols were looking to add more non-conference games to their schedule for the upcoming season, and it looks to be heading that way. Though a Tennessee spokesman says a contract has not been finalized, as the teams are working to wrap it up.
According to Mike Wilson, Tennessee is expected to host Arizona in 2021, with the Vols heading to Arizona in the 2022-2023 season.
This would be another premier matchup for Tennessee, as they are currently scheduled to play in the 2021 Hall of Fame tip-off, at the Mohegan Sun. The participating teams for that event are North Carolina, Purdue and Villanova.
The Vols will also make a trip to Boulder, in a rematch with Colorado, which was agreed upon this past season, as both teams were looking for opponents.
Rick Barnes will have a loaded roster this season, with the additions of this 2021 recruiting class, which is currently ranked #2, led by Kennedy Chandler. Also, with the news of John Fulkerson returning, the Vols will be stacked with veterans.
Look for Tennessee to continue working to finish the 2021-2022 schedule, as they now have a few blue blood matchups on the horizon.
