The Tennessee football program has picked up their second commitment in two days, as 3-Star, 2022 defensive end Venson Sneed has picked the Vols.
The 6-foot-6, 251-pound DE from Winter Park, Florida, announced Thursday morning that he was ready to make his college choice. This comes at a great moment for the Vols, coming off the commitment of LB Elijah Herring on Wednesday.
Tennessee defensive line coach Rodney Garner and OC Alex Golesh played a big part in the recruitment of Sneed. The Vols football department held their “Orange Carpet Day” back in March, where prospects watched the Vols practice, virtually.

Having another defensive player jump win the boat is key for Tennessee, as they are looking to build depth at certain positions during this cycle. Having a player of Sneed’s size will give the Tennessee coaching staff many different positions for him to play around in, but mainly on the line.
Sneed chose the Vols over a number of schools, including West Virginia, Kentucky and Iowa St. The process for these coaching to build relationships with recruits has been difficult at times, but the Vols coaching staff has taken advantage of the opportunity over the last two months.
This is nice pickup for the defensive side of the football, which should pay dividends once they get him on campus and develop him further.
