Henry To’o To’o thanks Vol fans after entering transfer portal

Tennessee sophomore linebacker Henry To’o To’o entered the transfer portal on Wednesday night. He confirmed the move by thanking Vol fans on Twitter.

“THANK YOU,” To’o To’o tweeted. “This is not goodbye, at all. Being a Vol will always have a special place in my heart ! And I mean that. My brothers and I gave us your all everyday , home sweet home to me!”

To’o To’o departs following two seasons on Rocky Top. He played in 23 games and made 22 starts during his career as a Vol. To’o To’o led the Vols with 76 tackles and 10 tackles for a loss as a sophomore this past season.

He had one of the finest freshman seasons of any defensive player in the country in 2019, earning Freshman All-America honors from several organizations. His 72 tackles in 2019 ranked second among SEC freshman and fourth among FBS freshman. To’o To’o was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team after racking up five tackles for loss, a half-sack, two pass breakups, three quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery on the season.

To’o To’o signed with Tennessee out of national powerhouse De La Salle High School in Concord, California as a top-50 recruit and one of the top five linebacker prospects in the country.

To’o To’o was one of four Tennessee players to enter the transfer portal on Wednesday. Running back Eric Gray, linebacker Quavaris Crouch and offensive lineman Jahmir Johnson joined him.
