Four-star defensive back Nyland Green will announce his commitment this coming Tuesday on Dec. 8. The Vols are believed to be a strong contender for Green along with Georgia, Clemson and Auburn.
“My recruitment is now CLOSED,” Green tweeted this week. “God has shown me my home so save the date I will be committing December 8th. WILL NOT BE TAKING ANY INTERVIEWS OR ANSWERING ANY QUESTIONS LEADING UP TO MY DAY. THANK YOU ALL. GOD BLESS.”

Green, who has a strong relationship with Tennessee defensive coordinator Derrick Ansley, visited Knoxville for this year’s game against Alabama in October. He intends on signing in December and enrolling in January.
The Covington, Georgia native is ranked as the No. 69 overall player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. 247 considers Green the No. 5 overall corner and the ninth-best player in the state of Georgia out of Newton High School.
Green would be the 26th commitment for the Vols in the 2021 recruiting cycle if he were to commit. He would be the seventh defensive back to commit to the Vols and the fourth that Jeremy Pruitt’s staff views as a corner.
Four-star athlete Kaemen Marley, three-star safety De’Shawn Rucker, three-star athlete Christian Charles, three-star safety Edwin White, three-star athlete Elijah Howard and three-star corner Jay Jones are the defensive backs currently committed to Tennessee.
UT’s recruiting class currently ranks 14th overall in the country and fifth in the SEC.
