Vols a contender for five-star, top safety in class of 2022

Tennessee is a contender for five-star 2022 safety Keon Sabb, who tweeted out his list of Top 15 schools on Friday.

The Vols joined Clemson, Oregon, Rutgers, Texas A&M, Penn State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Michigan, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Maryland and South Carolina as one of the 15 contenders for the Williamstown, New Jersey native.

Sabb is considered the No. 13 overall player in the country and the top player at his position for the class of 2022 according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. The Williamstown High School product is ranked as the best player in the state of New Jersey.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound athlete also plays basketball.

There are not currently any crystal ball predictions for Sabb, but he has taken visits to Penn State and Rutgers. The Vols were his sixth offer from an SEC school. Sabb also holds offers from Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M.

Tennessee currently has one commitment in the class of 2022. Three-star defensive end Jimmy Scott was the first from the class to commit to the Vols on Aug. 16. Scott hails from Hamburg, New York.
