Tennessee baseball had its 2020 season cut short in March when COVID-19 abruptly brought the entire sports world to a halt.
Seven months later, the Vols are back on the diamond at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Tony Vitello’s fourth-year squad is currently going through fall ball as they prepare to try and replicate the success that they had this past March, this coming 2021 season.
Vitello spoke with reporters over Zoom on Thursday to discuss how fall ball is going for the Vols. He also updated the status of several seniors returning for a second senior season, newcomers that are standing out, and how the team is coming together.

Junior right-handed pitcher Jackson Leath and sophomore utility player Max Ferguson also met with the media in addition to Vitello. Leath and Ferguson discussed how they looked to improve over the offseason, how fall ball is going, and how this year’s team is coming together.
