Malone is considered a four-star prospect by the 247Sports composite. The composite ranks him as the No. 55 overall player in the country, the No. 5 overall defensive tackle and the top player in the state of New Jersey. He attends the high school that current Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano attended.
The Vols are one of nearly 30 scholarship offers Malone holds. Tennessee was the first SEC school to offer Malone on Sept. 28, 2018.
Malone announced a top 14 in April, a list that included Tennessee, USC, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Rutgers, Alabama, Texas A&M, LSU, Georgia, Michigan, Florida State, Florida, Penn State and Virginia Tech
He has visited a number of the schools he’s strongly considering, including Tennessee. He visited with the Vols’ baseball staff during the February dead period for football recruiting.
Malone intends to announce his collegiate decision in January at the Under Armor All-America Game on Jan. 7, 2021.
