No. 16 Tennessee defeated South Carolina 31-27 on Saturday night to begin its season 1-0. Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt met with reporters on Zoom following the game to discuss his team’s performance to begin the season.
Pruitt discussed his team’s ability to overcome a slow start to start the game, as well as the adversity they faced in the third quarter. He also discussed the play of Jarrett Guarantano, Kivon Bennett, Deandre Johnson and the play of both lines of scrimmage.
