Redshirt sophomore Jarious Abercrombie has entered the transfer portal, Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports reported on Monday evening.

Abercrombie walked-on to the football team prior to the 2018 season when Jeremy Pruitt first arrived on the job. He redshirted that season before being awarded a scholarship prior to the 2019 season in which he played sparingly.

The Birmingham native spent much of the last two years on the scout team at 6-foot-4, 315 pounds.

Tennessee is coming off of a season in which its offensive line took a big step forward. The Vols are expected to have one of the best offensive lines in the SEC this season, with or without Cade Mays, making it tougher for Abercrombie to see the field. The Vols have nine players with starting experience, four of which are former five-star prospects.

The Vols are scheduled to kickoff their 10-game conference-only schedule on Sept. 26 against South Carolina.
