Tennessee’s online roster has been updated ahead of its first preseason practice, and that means the jersey numbers and measurables for its summer enrollees have been revealed.
The Vols added 19 players this summer, including USC grad transfer wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. That group consists of five wide receivers, five linebackers, three running backs, three offensive linemen, two defensive backs one defensive lineman and one specialist.
Punter Joe Doyle is also back on the roster after entering the transfer portal following the season in January. On the official updated 2020 roster Tennessee released on Wednesday afternoon following the conclusion of the team’s second preseason practice, Doyle was back on the roster.
Doyle was the team’s starting punter during the 2018 season and for the first half of 2019 before he lost his starting job to Paxton Brooks. He also served as the team’s holder on field goals and extra points last season.
Along with the newcomers, the updated online roster also featured number changes for some of Tennessee returning players. Most notably, Bryce Thompson is now wearing No. 0, and Trevon Flowers is wearing No. 1, respectively.
Wide receiver Cedric Tillman is now wearing No. 4, while Kenneth George is now No. 5.
In addition to its summer enrollees, the Vols also added walk-ons to the roster. One of the most notable names is Jack Jancek, the son of former Tennessee defensive coordinator John Jancek. Camryn Beckwith, the brother of fellow Vol freshman Dee Beckwith, also walked-on.
