The “Air Show Uniforms” (1980s Home and Away Throwback)
- Based on the uniform styles from the 1980’s.
- Named after the nickname given to the offensive air raid under VFL QB Tony Robinson during his time on the Hill.
- Home and away uniforms have double sleeve stripes, the Volstar logo on the collar and hip, Clarendon NOB font, faux-mesh jersey numbers, double striped pants and socks, and white/orange cleats.
- The away uniform showcases the orange pants. This uniform combination was seen primarily when Tennessee upset Alabama in 1983 and 1985.
- Home uniform is based on the primary look from that decade, but it was nationally seen when the Vols defeated the No. 1 Auburn Tigers in 1985. Also featured in the 1985 Sugar Bowl victory over Miami.

I’ve always wanted to see a chromed out orange helmet.
I still like the smokey gray, especially close to Halloween.
Matted Orange Helmet w/Black POWER T and white outline.
