On Saturday, four-star defensive tackle KaTron Evans from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland committed to the Vols. On Sunday, one of his highly-rated teammates joined him in committing to UT.

Aaron Willis, a four-star linebacker at St. Frances, took to Instagram on Mother’s Day to announce his commitment to Tennessee, giving the Vols their 10th commit over the last 15 days. Willis chose the Vols over offers from Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Georgia, Florida, and others. He posted the video to his Twitter shortly thereafter.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Willis is the No. 112 overall prospect, No. 9 outside linebacker, and No. 4 recruit in the state of Maryland in the 2021 cycle. Both he and Evans played with current Vol defensive lineman Dominic Bailey at St. Frances in 2019. Bailey was a four-star lineman who signed with the Vols and enrolled early in the 2020 class.

Tennessee offered Willis back on January 24, 2019 while he was still committed to Virginia Tech. Willis committed to the Hokies on September 21, 2018, but he reopened his recruitment on April 29, 2019.

The 6-foot, 205-pound linebacker has been invited to the Polynesian Bowl and is considered one of the top linebacker prospects in the 2021 class. He gives Tennessee their 10th commitment over the last two weeks, joining the likes of five-stars Dylan Brooks and Terrence Lewis, four-stars Kamar Wilcoxson and Julian Nixon, and others.

On the field, Willis is a dynamic defender who has a penchant for laying down some big hits. He moves very quickly and covers a lot of ground in a short period of time. He possesses a strong base and has good footwork as well, displaying patience to let a play develop and dissect it while also showing off great aggression. His instincts are phenomenal, and he could develop more into an inside linebacker or defensive back prospect depending on how Tennessee’s coaches want to use him.

Willis and Evans become the fourth group of teammates to commit to the Vols in the last two recruiting cycles. In the 2020 class, Tennessee had three different sets of teammates sign with them. Tyler Baron and Cooper Mays of Knoxville Catholic, Omari Thomas and Jabari Small of Briarcrest Christian, and Bryson Eason, Martavius French, and Tamarion McDonald of Whitehaven all signed with UT in the 2020 class.

Tennessee now has 20 commitments in their 2021 class. Willis joins five-star Terrence Lewis as projected outside linebackers in the Vols’ 2021 class.
