RB1: Ty Chandler or Tim Jordan
RB2: Eric Gray, Carlin Fils-aime
The running back room heading into the spring seems fairly cut-and-dry, but it will likely change a ton between now and the start of the 2020 season.
Right now, both Ty Chandler and Tim Jordan are likely the dual-starters once again like last season. But rising sophomore Eric Gray surged to end his freshman campaign, and this spring will be all about whether or not that young back can usurp the seniors. Gray is a dangerous home run threat, but this spring will be all about him improving his blocking and overall effectiveness outside of just hitting open holes and running down the field.
Carlin Fils-aime returns as a fifth-year running back, and this spring will be important for him to try and find a role before the Vols welcome three freshmen running backs and potentially another addition in either Chase Hayden or Zach Evans.
