It’s been another busy offseason for Tennessee’s on-field and off-field staff. While Jeremy Pruitt seems to have filled all his on-field coaching positions — though nothing official has been announced by UT about the two new hires — Pruitt still has a few moves to make for his off-field staff. On Thursday night, one of those vacancies was filled.

According to his personal Twitter account, Andrew Warsaw is leaving Mississippi State to take over as Tennessee’s Director of Football Operations.

“My family and I are thankful for our time in Starkville and we enjoyed being a part of Mississippi State University,” Warsaw said in a note on Twitter. “With that being said we couldn’t be more excited for our next chapter on Rocky Top at The University of Tennessee. It’s an honor to be a part of a program with such rich tradition and the best fan base in the country. Can’t wait to get to work for Coach Pruitt and this great staff!”

Warsaw will be taking over for Todd Watson, who is expected to move to a different off-field role for Tennessee. Watson had served as UT’s Director of Football Operations for the last two years and was the Director of Operations and High School Relations at Troy for three years before joining Pruitt at Tennessee.

In December of 2017, Warsaw was hired as Mississippi State’s Assistant Athletics Director and Director of Football Operations. He served that role the last two years under head coach Joe Moorhead. But with Mississippi State moving on from Moorhead and hiring Mike Leach, Warsaw elected to move on from the Bulldogs as well.

At Mississippi State, Warsaw helped Moorhead in all facets of the program, including travel, practices, and day-to-day operations at the football complex.

Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Warsaw served as the NFL’s Director of Game Operations for a year. He coordinator team logistics and travel for international games as well as the Super Bowl. He oversaw all gameday policies during the 2017 season and worked from the league’s headquarters in New York.

Warsaw also served as Purdue’s Director of Football Operations from 2015-16 and was the operations coordinator at Arizona from 2013-15. In 2012, he was the Director of Football Operations at Fordham. He’s also worked at Penn, Villanova, and the US Merchant Marine Academy.

Warsaw graduated from West Virginia in 2009 and was a student manager with the Mountaineers for four years prior to graduating.

Tennessee’s move to bring in Warsaw and move Watson to a different role came about because of Joe Osovet’s promotion to an on-field role as UT’s tight ends coach. Osovet was Tennessee’s Director of Football Programming last season.

Pruitt still has one more off-field role to fill, as Director of Player Personnel Drew Hughes left UT to take a similar role at South Carolina earlier this week.
