Dominic Bailey is possibly the most overlooked prospect in Tennessee’s 2020 class. That would be more understandable if he was a middling three-star, but he’s been a four-star lineman since he committed to the Vols almost a year ago.

The reason he’s overlooked? Bailey is quiet, didn’t go visit other schools after committing to UT, and just went about his business without much hullabaloo. But he’s a phenomenally good athlete, in my opinion, and he’s a versatile and smart lineman.

When Bailey is on the field, all he does is make plays. He can play both the offensive and defensive lines, and I think he’s a big steal for Jeremy Pruitt in this class. St. Frances Academy has very well-structured practices and are one of the top teams in high school football, and he was a standout on that team that gave up just 4.8 points a game. Not only that, but he stood out at the 2020 Under Armour All-American Game as well, totaling five tackles and a sack in the game.

St. Frances Academy was rated as the No. 3 team in all of high school football in the 2019 season per MaxPreps, and Bailey was a big reason for that. Plus, he’s an early enrollee, which means he’ll have even more time to get acclimated to UT’s system and strength and conditioning program.

I don’t know that Bailey gets a ton of playing time as a true freshman because the Vols return all of their major contributors along the D-line from 2019 and welcome back Emmit Gooden from injury, but I think Bailey’s ceiling is very, very high at Tennessee.
