Secondary
Nathanael: A-
The Vols’ defensive backs let up a few big plays that could’ve been more costly than they were, but other than that, the secondary played very well. The reason Ramsey ran as many times as he did was because Tennessee’s defensive backs blanketed Indiana’s receivers time and time again. Alontae Taylor played well, and Shawn Shamburger had the best game of his UT career with an interception and a sack.
Ben: A
Tennessee’s secondary played really well. Indiana had been averaging over 300 yards per game through the air, and the Vols held Ramsey to 227 passing yards and forced him to thrown an interception. Shawn Shamburger made the interception in the midst of playing a terrific game. Shamburger also had a sack.
