Keep Everyone in the Boat
Several of Tennessee’s top commits in their 2020 class have been shutting down their recruitment heading into the early signing period, and that’s good news for UT’s coaches. For each recruit shutting down his recruitment, that’s one less prospect for Jeremy Pruitt and his staff to worry about making a last minute change.
Keshawn Lawrence, Omari Thomas, Martavius French, Tamarion McDonald, and Tee Hodge have all announced their decisions to shut down their recruitments, and all are expected to sign this week. But there are still a few Vol commits who will make Tennessee’s coaches sweat it out.
Four-star athlete Jimmy Calloway has been getting a ton of attention from some high profile programs for weeks, and he’s been willing to listen. Oklahoma, Auburn, and Kentucky are the most notable programs to make runs at Calloway, but his official visit to UT’s campus this past weekend seems to have been enough to seal the deal. Still, Tennessee’s coaches won’t rest easy until they see his signature on the dotted line.
Most of Tennessee’s other commits seems solid and likely to sign this week, but someone like James Robinson or Kyree Miller might be worth keeping an eye on. Both guards seem locked in to UT’s class, but both have also received more interest after their strong senior seasons.
All in all, the Vols’ current group of 2020 commits should all be part of this class. But hanging on to them all is definitely a priority.
