Tennessee’s Christmas Wish List for Recruiting

Get a Flip

The Vols aren’t pursuing a ton of prospects who are committed to other schools right now, but there are still a few recruits Tennessee would like to flip. Even if it takes place after the early signing period, flipping one of these prospects would be a late Christmas gift for sure.

Auburn defensive lineman commit Jay Hardy is the biggest realistic name on Tennessee’s board who is committed to another school. As of right now, Hardy is expected to wait and sign in February. That’s good news for the Vols, as it means they can put on the full court press over the next two months.

TCU commit Jimmy Holiday is another big priority for the Vols. Tennessee would love to have him in this class in some way, shape, or form. It’s expected that he fits in better as a wide receiver in college, but he wants at least a shot at quarterback. He plays quarterback in a dual-threat role for Madison Central down in Mississippi, and he’s dynamic as a high school QB. Tennessee’s coaches really like Holiday, but does the idea of competing with Harrison Bailey, Brian Maurer, and any other QBs on Tennessee’s future roster turn him off from flipping to the Vols?

Another name to watch for is Kansas commit Khari Coleman. Tennessee’s coaches also quite like Coleman, and the pass rusher has gotten a ton of attention from UT lately.

A couple longshots to keep tucked away in the back of your mind are LSU commit and former Vol commit BJ Ojulari and Georgia commit Nazir Stackhouse. Both seem unlikely, but Stackhouse isn’t signing until February, so that could give the Vols a little help. They’re set to get an official visit from him in January.
